As with those Tom Clancy titles, the new Star Wars game will run on the Snowdrop game engine. That’s an enticing prospect – not only looking to offer a different type of Star Wars game than the multiplayer-focused Battlefront titles, the Dark Souls-esque approach to adventure gaming in Jedi: Fallen Order, and the space-combat of Squadrons, but from a developer who offered an intriguing combination of story missions seamlessly blended with multiplayer environments in The Division games. The new Star Wars game is described as a “story-driven, open-world” game, and it’s being developed by Massive Entertainment – the team behind The Division, its sequel, and Far Cry 3.
